国产处理器厂商龙芯中科近日透露,其首款GPGPU芯片9A1000的研发已基本完成,计划在今年三季度交付流片。这款芯片被视为龙芯在GPU领域的重要突破,标志着其正式进入独立显卡AI加速市场。

9A1000定位为一款低成本、支持AI加速的入门级显卡,图形性能对标AMD RX550,支持OpenGL 4.0和OpenCL ES 3.2。据官方介绍,该芯片在架构方面实现多项优化:图形流水线翻倍,主频提升25%,流处理器面积减小20%,轻负载功耗降低70%。其AI算力达到40TOPS,相比2K3000中集成的LG200核心性能提升超过5倍。

除了面向入门级市场的9A1000,龙芯还规划了中高端产品线。9A2000预计将于2027年推出,通过四颗9A1000集成实现性能扩展,支持更高版本的图形API和更多数据类型,INT8算力预计达160TOPS,并支持双片互联进一步提升性能。更高端的9A3000也在规划中,有望采用更先进制程实现3-5倍的性能提升。

尽管目前国产GPU领域已有不少企业布局,但真正实现量产和商业化应用的仍属少数。龙芯凭借其在CPU领域积累的技术经验和生态基础,正在逐步构建从集成显卡到独立显卡、从入门到中高端的GPU产品体系。其首款独显9A1000的流片与测试结果,将成为检验龙芯GPU技术实力的关键一役。

随着AI与图形计算需求持续增长,国产GPU能否打破国外垄断、走出差异化路线,仍需拭目以待。龙芯的加入,无疑为这场本土替代的长期竞争增添了新的变数。

 

Loongson Technology's First GPGPU Chip 9A1000 Concludes R&D, Set for Tape-Out in Q3 – Targeting AMD RX550 Performance!

Loongson Technology (Loongson Technology Corporation Limited), a domestic processor manufacturer, recently revealed that the research and development of its first GPGPU chip, the 9A1000, has been basically completed, with plans to deliver it for tape-out in the third quarter of this year. Regarded as a major breakthrough for Loongson Technology in the GPU field, this chip marks its official entry into the discrete graphics card and AI acceleration markets.

Positioned as an entry-level graphics card with low cost and AI acceleration support, the 9A1000 targets the graphics performance of AMD RX550 and supports OpenGL 4.0 as well as OpenCL ES 3.2. According to official introduction, the chip has achieved a number of architectural optimizations: the graphics pipeline has been doubled, the clock frequency has increased by 25%, the area of the stream processor has been reduced by 20%, and the power consumption under light load has decreased by 70%. Its AI computing power reaches 40 TOPS, which is more than 5 times higher than the performance of the LG200 core integrated in the 2K3000.

In addition to the 9A1000 for the entry-level market, Loongson Technology has also planned a mid-to-high-end product line. The 9A2000 is expected to be launched in 2027, achieving performance expansion through the integration of four 9A1000 chips. It will support newer versions of graphics APIs and more data types, with an expected INT8 computing power of 160 TOPS and support for dual-chip interconnection to further enhance performance. The higher-end 9A3000 is also in the planning stage, and is expected to adopt more advanced manufacturing processes to achieve a 3-5x performance improvement.

Although many domestic enterprises have already laid out their plans in the domestic GPU field, only a few have truly achieved mass production and commercial application. Leveraging its technical experience and ecological foundation accumulated in the CPU field, Loongson Technology is gradually building a GPU product system that ranges from integrated graphics cards to discrete graphics cards, and covers entry-level to mid-to-high-end segments. The tape-out and test results of its first discrete graphics card, the 9A1000, will be a crucial test of Loongson Technology's GPU technical capabilities.

As the demand for AI and graphics computing continues to grow, it remains to be seen whether domestic GPUs can break the foreign monopoly and develop a differentiated path. Loongson Technology's entry will undoubtedly add new variables to this long-term competition for local substitution.
